I've had friends that have done it. I haven't heard any complaints. Just give them a call first. If it's something new his price is generally within a few bucks of online, unless you find a really good deal somewhere.

I wouldn't hesitate to use them for transfers if they were closer. As it is, it's an hour drive maybe more with traffic for me. I can get to X-Rings shop in that amount of time, so I use him or a local place for online stuff.
