Default Dirty striker spring/assembly...how to clean?

I'm finding it tricky to clean certain parts of my gun. The striker spring in particular has oil on it from before but it has become dirty/brown. It's not easy to get into that part. Should I learn how to remove that part or should I trust a gunsmith to do this? Maybe it's not that hard to do?

Most all stryker fired pistol slide come apart the same way. While I have never taken apart the XD(I have taken apart the XDS), my M&P's, and Glocks come apart in more less the same way. YouTube is your best friend in this case.

With that being said, If your not comfortable taking it apart, simple aerosol type gun cleaner can clean that no problem. Just make sure that it says safe on polymer(or plasti or something like that) on it, as Stryker sleeve is plastic, and can get damaged.

Or what I would suggest is that you get in touch with fellow member name "Xringshooter" .
He is gunsmith in Lemant area(5min from downtown state College), and he can show you how to take slide apart to thoroughly clean your pistol

As said above you tube is the place. Looks like you already found a video. Consider this a good time to learn about your pistol.
