State lawmakers rebuffed Gov. Chris Christie over his order to relax how the state grants carry permits.

The Assembly on Monday voted to cancel proposed new guidelines directed by New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie for obtaining a firearms license.

The regulatory orders directed by Christie included adding “serious threats” to the qualifying circumstances in the state’s strict may-issue permitting scheme, a prospect lawmakers felt was a mistake for public safety and blocked with a series of resolutions.

“These regulations would vastly loosen New Jersey’s appropriately strict gun laws, and allow more people to become eligible for firearm carry permits in our state,” said Senate Majority Leader Weinberg, D-Bergen, in a statement. “In short, they would allow anyone living or working in high-crime neighborhoods to qualify for a firearm carry permit.”

that has more people leaving every year than moving in. I think last year, 200k left nj.

Way too many of them! I heard a news clip this morning that NY is loosing population as well. How many NY "refugees" are moving here, and bringing along their values.

I'd love to leave PA and head out west to a more freedom minded region, but would that make me an invader too?

I was one of those that left because it is anti-Constitution and high tax/no services. Not everyone fleeing to PA from NJ wants to make PA like NJ. It is the opposite. Some of us want to keep PA as it is and not let it become NY or NJ.

problem with that is we have constantly retreated pretty soon they would have us not only surrounded but boxed in for the kill, time to push back and hold our borders. Maybe convert some of these folks to reality. I don't see running to a better place being the answer only because when you do that you make the place you ran to better. Then the people who ruined the place you came from realize they are fucked again and then try to do the same thing because your in a better place ... and so on and so forth it's a vicious cycle.
