    Default I have AK fever

I've been watching AK operator union's videos and I now have Kalashnikov fever. I used to take care of a friend's AK while he was in the Marine Corps and I didn't like it so maybe I just need to shoot one and it will go away. I'm rational enough to remember hating the ergonomics and obviously the controls on an AR are much better but I still like them. I want that Romanian RH10 because it has the combination gas block/front sight and though I want the red wood, I would probably keep the Magpul stuff that comes on it. Anyone in Pittsburgh want to meet up at PMSC and shoot? Let me shoot your AK and you can shoot my Rainier Arms ambi AR15, 6" Ruger GP100 or Ruger LC9S (no safety or mag disconnect).

    I love AKs.

I have a VEPR 12, and an Arsenal Sam7SF. Both are perfect for a left handed shooter. The sam7 has a thumb safety and the VEPR has a knock off of the Kreb's Customs ambi lever.

If I can just figure out how to get an ak-74, with a thumb safety, and send it to rifle dynamics, then I will be in heaven.

Left side safety of a tantal operates the burst selection, not a safety lever. It can be modified to do so, however such modification would be useless because rifle dynamics is pretty picky about what they take in. Only polytec, mak90s, saiga, sgl, and arsenal. They won't even touch a century build, which most tantals are.

Been watching the classifieds for 'the right one' to join the AK club. Regrettably, few come up and most of those are not good deals.

I guess folks love them some AK and don't sell them.

I never really cared for AK47 rifles. In my opinion they are overhyped and suffer from bad ergonomics. Ever see someone try to get the dust cover back on one? However prior to the Bush importation ban one could have bought pre ban Norinco(s), polytech legend(s), Valmets AK47s, in other words the good ones and not todays junk. I glad I’m not in the market for one because I don’t trust what’s currently out there and the pre-bans are not only 20 years old but sellers of these want premium prices.

He/she is probably referring the the proverbial "slap" that inexperienced people do, to get the dust cover in. Similar to the slap that inexperienced people give to m4 handguards, to get them into the d-ring
