    Default Finger Grooves. Love? Hate?

I hate them because they never line up correctly with where I want to hold the gun. I feel like the grooves encourage a lower hold and therefor more muzzle flip. I'm finally parting with my last set of finger groove grips. My Ruger GP100 had the Hogue finger groove grips since I bought it but I bought the slimmer, flat version and can't wait for it to come. I brought my fingers up, out of the grooves on the Ruger tonight for the first time and feel much steadier during my nightly dry fire practice. I'm looking forward to trying this adjusted hold/new grip whenever it's warm enough to go shoot again. Am I alone? My wife has a Hogue grip with the grooves on her AR and I hate it. She likes it though. I don't get it.

Do you like finger grooves? Why?

None of my handguns have them. I wouldn't be opposed if they fit my hand, but as you mentioned, they often don't.

A2 grips. Yeah, that one bump may fit others, but not me - they're either replaced as I build, get or upgraded if they came on an assembled rifle.
I do have Hogue finger groove grips on two and so far I'm OK with them. I don't know if it's the fit, or the just fact that they are "grippy" that I like.

I would consider buying a Glock if they would consider getting rid of the finger grooves. I'm not going to pay $500+ for a gun and have to modify it with dremel. The new FBI Glocks are pictured without the goofy grooves. If the FBI doesn't need them why do I?

I hate finger grooves. I put up with them on Glocks. I have one old 17 without them. Oddly enough they fit my left hand but not my right.

I hate the finger grooves on Glocks. My fingers are too big for them.

I'm with Jenn ^^^. Although the grooves on my Glock 19 Gen 3 pistols align with my fingers quite nicely, that's about the only handgun with finger grooves that does. That said, the G19 pistols that get fired the most are the two Gen 2s that I have.

The grooves on a Gen 3 21SF are a bit uncomfortable, and I mainly shoot my Gen 2 G21.

S&W revolvers that came with finger grooved combat wood stocks or rubber (ugh!) grips get fitted with more traditional S&W grips.

I hate finger grooves with a passion. I have yet to find anything where they come remotely close to fitting me.

I'd rather they didn't have them. That said, all of you, your hands are wrong.
