Thanks. Any questions just ask away.

I probably have more pictures than answers though.

I want a .22lr upper, one of these days.
I have a bunch of Tennessee Arms hybrid lowers (they suck) I could use for .22lr and "hand gun" builds, if I ever get around to it.

If anyone sees a decent .22lr upper for a good price, let me know please.

Those are the ones with the brass insert where the buffer tube screws in?

The marketing angle seems to make sense but I've never really looked into them in much depth.
Is there any one thing that "sucks" about them?

I can't see an advantage to a polymer lower aside from "cost" - and since a standard lower can still be had for mere dollars more - what's the point?
Save $10-$20 for what? So you can risk improper fitment or potential structural issues?

If a poly lower was $10 then it may be enough of a savings to consider, and back when forged lowers were selling for $200, a $50 polymer lower was a steal, but not so much now.

I only bought the New Frontier because "it was there" at a time when any lower was hard to find - or afford.

Have you considered a conversion bolt as opposed to a dedicated .22lr upper?

I bought a 5 pack when Andersons were expensive and hard to come by (the last time, not this past election.) They sat in the safe for a couple years until I got started doing long guns. Come to find out they need to be "fitted" to whatever upper you have, and their fitting instructions are wrong. They molded the take down pins offset. It was clear to me from my conversation with them I wasn't going to get any useful redress to the problem. So they're relegated now to low impact duties, or possible experimentation (possible fixed mag AR pistol build, to comply with and get around NJ's dumb ass laws.)

As for a bolt conversion kit, that might be nice but I'd still have to buy an upper to use it in. and my understanding is the accuracy suffers noticeably over a proper .22lr AR upper build.
