    Default AR Build Total Cost

I love building my own paintball markers: the most complex kind called autocockers, and if there's any money savings in building an AR/M4 I may like to start bargain hunting for one so what's the total come out to on a custom built?

Like the K-man said, totally depends on what you want where you get it, if you shop around, find sales, buy used, ect...

    Mine:
    Anvil Arms lower $100 + 10 ship
RRA complete upper 1:8 wylde 16" SS $500 on sale free ship
RRA rear sight $100 (free ship with upper)
Socom stock $120 on sale free ship coupon from midway
DPMS LPK bought local for $50
    FFL on the lower $20

prices are aprox to what I remember, but it came out to around $900 all said and done with shipping and FFL and everything.

You can get one of those del-ton kits (Ive heard nothing but good things about) and add a lower for around $100 and get in at around $600

    About
16" M4 rifle kit comes with everything needed to complete a stripped lower receiver.
Includes fully assembled, headspaced and test fired upper receiver, lower parts kit and buttstock.
Rifle kit does not include stripped lower

    ---------------------

There are other similar kits out there, too. Again, it all depends on what you want.

Even with the additional cost of purchasing the proper tools to do an AR build you most likely will come in below the cost of a complete rifle. The other thing you should take into consideration is how much the knowledge of the rifle is worth. If you buy a stripped lower and upper to do the build you will be putting the WHOLE thing together, ever pin and spring. Your brain will be very full of great info when you get done. When the zombies attack your gunsmith will have his own issues so I encourage everyone to know their gun. This is a great way to go. Here is a great manual about the bits and pieces of the AR

check out this its the best how to on the net, and really shows how easy it is. Be sure to watch the vids too. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=226782

I've built them from $450, up to almost 2k so it is really about what you want.
