Assault rifles? You mean Evil Black Guns? Or are you talking about all semi-auto rifles? Then again Bolt actions resemble sniper rifles. So maybe they can be called assault rifles also. I think the lables of the antis are becoming much to accepted. Not a knock on you there buddy, but I think this is something we should ALL be mindful of.

During the clinton era he kept talking about a forty dollar assault rifles. When we ran down what he was talking about it was a Mosin Nagant type 44. Since he did not think that we should be able to buy one, I bought three and gave two to family and friend.
Those people will call anything an assault rifle.

If Obama wins they will be banned before the end of his first term and the ball will start rolling to ban handguns but that won`t happen till succeeding terms.

Bold added by me for emphasis. Since he is talking about what he will do over the next 10 years I think this is an important distinction. We need to realize he may not just be blowing hot air. He may infact be telling us EXACTLY what he plans to do.

Thanks for the responses, It just seems ever lingering now because it has been quite for the last few weeks. Thanks God Hilliary Clinton dropped out of the race, but Obama is jsut as bad and will do the same thing. The reason I am so concerned is I have always wanted a few AR type rifles and various other models that would be included in a ban (don't need to see a bill, I just know). The problem is I enlist when I am 18, get shipped off next summer. More likly than not I wont have enough money to grab a few until after boot camp when they give me $10,000. I hope are guns are safe till then.

I knew what you meant, but we really need to refuse to use the words of the "enemy." When you control the language you control the argument. We can't let teh anti's control the language.

I don't know about the AKs or the M-14, but you can buy AR lowers for around $150 or so. Buy yourself a few of them and you can but the kits for the rest.
