This is what I bought and what it cost me:

Lee Anniversary Kit - $85 from Cabela's
Frankford Arsenal Tumbler - $40 from Sportsmans Warehouse
.45 ACP Lee Carbide 3 Die Set - $30 from Cabela's
500 230 Gr. LRN bullets - $38 from my local gunshop
500 CCI 300 Large Pistol primers - $13.50 from my local gunshop.

If I had to do it again I'd pay $165 for the Lee Turret Press kit. The single stage is fine and works great, but it would be nice to not have to change dies between the stages.

I spent $167 for the equipment (1 die set) and $75 for 500 bullets/1000 primers/1lb powder (enough for over 1k rounds). So another $35 for another 500 bullets and that's about $275 for the equipment and 1k rounds of 45.

Edit to add: I should've got the turret kit as well. But there will always be a place on my bench for a single stage press, I'm sure.

You want to get started CHEAP? Here's what I started on...all you need is a plastic-faced hammer and a little Crisco from the kitchen for case lube. It took me about an hour to load a box of 50 rounds but back then I wasn't making much money and I figured it was worth my time. The Lee website says $29.XX....you could probably find one for less than $20 on line or at a gun show.

too bad I can't find somethig that I just line up the cases and it goes in one end and comes out the other, cleaned, primed and reloaded . . . and just fill the hoppers in the middle . . . . LOL

I picked up the Frankfort tumbler with separator, Lee Turret Press, 4 pc 45 Acp die set, bullet extractor, electronic caliper, and some other misc equipment from Midway and the total with shipping was 229.00. They were out of the anniversary kit and the tumbler without the separator so I ended up paying 20 more for the tumbler and 20 more for the press. I'm glad I got the turret. Very easy to set up and works efficiently. As for powder, primers and bullets. So far I purchased a lb of powder, 300 cci primers, and 200 bullets. I went with the jacketed as they are cleaner for shooitng in my past experiences. I have just under $70 total invested in that equipment (place I purchased is definately not the cheapest around but I was there). 500 FMJ Round nose 230 gr can be had for about $65.

I shot my first 50 reloads yesterday with a few minor issues. We had some shells that did not feed properly and I think that may have been an OAL issue. Going to reload some more today.

Good luck on your purchase. I would recommend the Turret press if you are reloading multiple calibers. You will be able to purchase a separate plate and and only have to do your set up one time for each caliber unless you change bullet weights or need to adjust your OAL.

Except for the cleaning part..........Lee Precision's LOAD-MASTER will do it.

Add $20 to your each package for haz-mat costs. Primers and powders aren't shipped together, so that's $40 + shipping right there....

Better to find a local store and drive there to pick it up.
