Question reloads don't head space 9mm

I reloaded 50 rounds. After de priming and resizing on a Lee press, I always drop them into a Wilson head spacer, all passed. When I was done crimping, I checked them again, 2 just won't seat. I even pressed them in with my thumb, no good, then it is tough to get them again. Curious as to what happened? What a bitch, I now have to take them apart and that is always a chore.

The case may be hitting the die crimp before the seater stem is finished pushing the bullet into place which is creating a case bulge. Back your seater stem out and restart your die adjustment process.

WE had similar problems w 9mm cases. The dagone thinsg wd sometimes resize ok and some wd not..using RCBS carbide die and running a Dillon 550. Had a couple rds stick in a Glock even. We miked a bunch of cases out and some are simply too big [by a few 1000ths] to properly re-size. They actualy get a slight bulge right down just out past the extractor groove! This bulge is what was sticking in the chambers.

Anyways we bought what is called an "Undersized resizing die" for 9mm..it sizes the case right down to that groove..as long as the cases are not too big to start( only a few are). Since then we have loaded 1000 9mm rds w/o any problems in several diffrent 9mm pistols.'

I 4git where we found that undersized die, but we got it on the 'net. G'luk. keep us posted.

Another problem w 9mm cases is that the damn things headspace on the case mouth, like the .45s do...so if you over-crimp that case mouth is not prominent enuf to stop the case from dropping IN too far..see?

I Always use a separate taper crimp die in my 550 and I've never had an issue in 20 years. If you use a combination seater and crimp die, some cases may bulge and not seat.

Don't over crimp the case mouth.

I use the 4 die Lee set, never had a problem with "bulging" and the Lee Factory Crimp die works great.

Yep. I remember when I started reloading and 9mm was my first to start with and the research I did pointed towards using a separate crimp die which I have done and have never had a problem.

Lee factory taper crimp die for the win.

That has caused me similar problems in the past. Backed off the crimp die and all got better
