A couple years ago I shot at York Riflemen with my father. He moved to Florida after sponsoring me for membership. Sadly, apparently they changed their by-laws so he had to attend the introductory meeting with me. He couldn't afford to fly/drive all the way from Florida for a couple hour meeting, and so my membership was denied. I was a bit irritated they wouldn't work with me, considering I was trying to get inexpensive practice in prior to my deployment last June...

Regardless, now that they are not an option, I'm trying to find a decent outdoor range where I can shoot in peace and not be bothered by RSO's constantly looking over my shoulder or large crowds...

    Dover Fish & Game.

Rarely anyone else there when I go, it's in the woods in seclusion.

    $20 a year too!

I was looking into a new club this year. I see that west shore has now lifted the sponsorship requirement for new members. You just have to attend a meeting and get a 2/3rds vote to join.

No brainer, Bremer Rd. 50 bucks for the 1st year, 30 bucks there after. I frequent it (since I live on Bremer), hardly ever anyone else there during the week. I love the place.

I have been a member of York Rifleman and East Prospect F&G. Both great clubs, no stupid/unrealistic rules (although safety is paramount and non-negotiable........meaning don't be a retard and everything will be fine).

There is a waiting list for both. But once in, you will never want to leave. York Rifleman has an indoor small bore range (.17 and .22 short or long only, no mag). East Prospect is pretty far out there but hardly ever busy. York Rifleman is close to Rt. 30 and the Galleria Mall area. Hope this helps.

I went on a tour of West Manchester Fish & Game a little while ago, considering joining. VERY nice facilities, metal targets, pistol and rifle range, indoor archery and even an outdoor archery course and fishing creeks. Only $50 a year. You need to attend a meting to join.

I go to Dover F&G. $25 to join, $15 a year after first year...no meetings...grounds are nnothing special but there never anyone else there. They do meat shoots and events.

I had no idea NYCF&G was even over there! I'm just over the mountain and a bit west back towards Jug.

Added bonus is over 100 acres of hunting land FREE. One thing they're sticklers on... NO GUEST. Must join, works for me at the price of membership.
