    Default Local shops for AR-15's?

Looking for my first AR, what shops should I check out? I was considering the Ruger AR556 at Gander Mountain for $670, but I'd rather use a LGS.

    Thanks,
    Dan

I don't recommend laymans for a variety of reasons (PM me if you need them). Drive a little further to Hakes sporting goods, 100 Willow St., in Wrightsville, or hop across the river to my favorite: Backwoods Outfitters on Ironstone Rd. in Columbia.

Almost every lgs will have basic AR15s. Its a little drive but Lanco Tactical in Etown is my go to place for AR stuff, just up the road from them is Trops, a great gun shop you should check out.

That said, there will be a gun show at the fairgrounds next weekend so there you can see who has the best deals, all in one place.

Hakes, Backwoods, and Lanco Tactical are the 3 I'd visit.

Another vote here for Hakes in Wrightsville.

I also recommend Gun Bunker in Shrewsbury. Small building, but it's packed full of choices. And Joe has always been great to deal with.

    +1 for Backwoods.

Tactical Edge Firearms in Dover has ARs and parts in stock and can order anything you want too. Matt's also a good gunsmith/builder too so he can help you with anything you need done, or need help with.

I was looking an upper some parts kit in his shop not long ago, said he had a lower for $69 in stock too.
