Default Busted my cherry: First AR

Probably lots of "STF What?" to this, but just got my first AR (courtesy of the pafoa classifieds, I should add).

It's a basic entry-level rifle. Anderson lower, Del-Ton upper. 1:9 barrel. Comes with a good rear flip-down sight and a good basic Red Dot from Bushnell.

Will post pics and results once I take it out to the range (and you KNOW that's gonna be tomorrow, come hell or high water!)...

Yeah, you know I'm googling "AR-15 Accessories" like mad. I think a good floating rail will be the first upgrade.

I remember my first... it was over in like 30 seconds.

I mean the mag dump, mag dump I say.

    Congratulations!

If you don't have plenty of magazines and ammo then I wouldn't be "upgrading" anything until you get them.

Congrats on the rifle if you plan to buy ammo by the 1000 case check out target sports USA they have wolf gold which is very good ammo for $319 delivered. PSA has been running $6.00 D&H mags every weekend for the last few weeks. They also have been running ammo and mag combo packs just check under their daily deals.

The D&H mags are good for the price, I have quite a few of them. I'm a fan of Lancer magazines myself. Once you get the mags and ammo squared away if you feel you want to upgrade something IMO the first thing on the list should be a better red dot sight. Something like a Holosun, Aimpoint PRO or something along those lines. A free float rail is nice (I have them) but you really need glass with decent magnification to take full advantage of the potential accuracy increase of a FF rail.

I will welcome you to the AR owning family in the same way Emptymag welcomed me a few years ago when I joined the club...
