McCain announcing his running mate tomorrow.
The rumors are flying, and Tom Ridge is supposedly on the short list. How does a McCain/Ridge duo sound? Think it helps his chances, hurts them? Anyone else you'd rather see? Hurry, he announces tomorrow.

mcains running mate will be just as big of a wack job as he is. The devil would probably be a better choice than whoever is on his short list

+1 to that ... the whole damn thing boils down to a choice between bad and worse.
At this point I have to think we are screwed no matter which way it goes in November ... either we lose gun rights and move towards socialism or we lose more rights we are guaranteed and move closer to the Orwelian police state. Where in all that is a winner?

First time I ever saw more replies than votes, but the night's still young.

Re: McCain announcing his running mate tomorrow.
Ridge is okay, but he's been too long out of Pa. politics to make a significant difference here (especially with the Renell machine in H'burg) and the only reason he's known to the general public is because of the DHS color-code scheme which is more or less a punchline for the late-night comedy shows. He'd be pretty middling at best.

I really don't think it's going to be ridge. He's been "warned" by the hardcode right wing that they don't want a pro choice VP... I think if he picks ridge he'll lose the race...
As for the bad/worse:
I think McCain might be bad, but Obama would be catastrophic!!!

I'm hoping for Sarah Palin or Colin Powell but I think we will settle for Mitt Romney.
