A stock mini-14 is pretty fucking awesome for 3 gun, the sights being mounted right on top of the barrel make close shots much easier

I have actually heard a professional say it was the 1st rifle he used when he started since he was going to be completely different then the AR crowd and it was a complete disaster. If I can find the youtube interview I will post it I just cant remember who was interviewing the guy.

Socom or Scout with a 16" barrel might be somewhat competitive.

I started USPSA during the Clinton ban.
I was able to buy a Mini on the cheap for the side matches.
Total shit for what I was using it for.
Luckily it came with a factory folder and a few mags so I was able to sell it and buy a neutered AR.
