Pittsburgh 5th poorest city in America
Lets see town has been run by Democrat's since the 40's. Between their socialist policies, high taxes and the go for the throat unions, no wonder businesses can't pay and no one can make any money in this town.
If businesses can't pay more then people don't have the money to spend.

No . . . um . . . it's not because of that. It's the mean Republicans that ship jobs overseas. Yeah, that's it. They shipped all the construction jobs overseas too. They now make buildings in Jakarta for only $0.032 per day and those poor children are then ground up and used as building material. You big mean meannie blaming the benevolent Democrats.

Hmmm paying guys 20.00+ an hour to shovel coal into ovens or push buttons isn't cost effective? are ya sure? The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Re: Pittsburgh 5th poorest city in America
You are correct! Don't forget about the tariffs either.
If you recall, Bush initially tried to add tariffs to imported steel but what did that do? It caused a major uproar on multiple fronts. First, all manufacturers said that if steel was priced higher, they would lose contracts to foreign competition. Second, Detroit yelled about the cost increase to automotive manufacturing. Third, the EU threatened similar tariffs against items imported from the U.S. because of how these tariffs would affect them. In the end, things had to go back to normal and Pittsburgh suffered from pricing themselves out of the industry. You can't just keep raising your prices in an open market. This is why I keep saying that the dollar was over valued and that long-term, we will be better off with a lower valued dollar. Maybe then jobs will stop going overseas and our products will be more attractive to other countries since they can now afford more."The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

Re: Pittsburgh 5th poorest city in America
Whoa! We all know burning coal is EVIL. It emits carbon! Steel will no longer be made in the US. We will not burn coal for that. We'll just let China and Russia do that so we can pay them for it. Plus do you think the unions would allow you to pay less than 4x the minimum wage for a physical labor job like shoveling coal that requires the average skill of a 4th grader?
If I can make enough money without developing a skill what is the incentive to develop a skill?
