Georgia school district loses accreditation!
Georgia's Clayton County school system near Atlanta becomes the nation's first school district in 40 years to lose accreditation.
** No details yet, the official announcement is supposed to happen at 1:00 pm but it sounds like someone leaked it.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/08/28/cla....ap/index.htmlThe first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Re: Georgia school district loses accreditation!
Hmm.....wonder who doesn't have their facts straight? The first link says it's the first school in40 years to lose accreditation, the second link says it's the third.
Anyway, this is terrible for the students. First, it means the school system probably wasn't doing a very good job of educating them. Second, as mentioned in the article, it will limit their eligibility to get into college and get financial aid. Granted, some of the families will have the means to pull their children and send them to different schools, but I'm sure there will be plenty that won't. Especially considering that the first article says there are 50,000 students in the district.
It looks like the state is stepping in and removing several of the board members, who appear to be the root of the problems. Hopefully, for the sake of the students, it'll be enough to get things turned around.

Clear case that school vouchers should be available. Instead of pissing tax money into that district the parents should have been able to send their children to another school with that money.
