Default Shooting/Robbery at Walmart in Monroe County?

Anyone have any details on the shooting that happened overnight in Monroe County at a Walmart in the parking lot? Newswatch 16 had a quick blurb this morning, but not much detail - only that there was a robbery (attempt) and two men exchanged gunfire.

    Any of us?

Only the government-and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws." (Edward Abbey, "The Right to Arms," Abbey's Road [New York, 1979])
I have my rifle. Do you?

    I KNOW!

I've been peeking in here all morning trying to find out the same!

Police are investigating an early morning shootout in Monroe County.

Stroud Area Regional police tell us one man has been arrested and two more men are being detained after the shooting at the Walmart in East Stroudsburg.

According to police, just before 1 a.m. Thursday, the victim was standing by his vehicle in the Walmart parking lot in Pocono Plaza. The suspects approached him with a weapon and tried to rob him. The victim was also carrying a gun and shots were exchanged.

One of the suspects was shot and taken to the hospital.

The victim was not shot, but suffered cuts to his face when a bullet struck and shattered one of his truck's windows.

Police had a large area of the parking lot blocked off while they investigated, and the entrance closest to the shooting was also closed.

The Walmart in East Stroudsburg, which is a 24-hour store, is still open.

Police have not released the names of the victim or the suspects.

I know we have very few details on this......But one can EASILY infer that the 'victim' was truly a happenstance victim (not a case of disagreememnt/arguemnt that spilled into the WM lot)

Somebody want to call Headcase or Dredly? I know both of them live up that way and that is the closest WalMart.

Sadly I have to ask myself: What took so long?

I have never missed living there.

Sounds like the bad guys had a bad day at the office. Gotta hate when you pick the wrong person to rob.
The sad part is, Walmart. I haven't been to this particular Walmart, but I'm assuming it's basically like most that have their own parking lot. In this story, like most involving Walmart, it's business as usual in the store. Even though theres a robbery and shootout in the parking lot, they are allowed to stay open and act as if they had no responsability for what happens in the lot. People bitch about Walmart for alot of reasons. They should force them to close down during an investigation on their property. They make enough money to protect customers in the lots, but don't! It's a shame.

The truck in the pic had Jersey tags so that could possibly rule out PA guys that live in the area. Not sure if it is the truck owned by the robbery victim. Hope he doesn't get jammed up.

I could be wrong but I don't know of a store anywhere that takes responsibility for what happens in their parking lot.
