    Default Is this legal?

I'm not really sure if this would be necessarily illegal, but here's the situation. My dad is trying to purchase a firearm online, but doesn't have a credit card. If I use my credit card to pay for it, and he gives me the cash, and when the gun arrives at the FFL he is the one that fills out the background check, etc, is that legal?

I don't think it falls under a straw purchase or anything like that, but I just want to be sure.

    Thanks in advance.

Your father would be the actual transferee on Form 4473, but there will be a record of you paying for the firearm.

I would say not good. IANAL.

Any big box store, grocery store, sheetz, etc sells prepaid credit cards. All he has to do is put enough on to cover the cost of the firearm.

It's a shame that we even need to ask questions like this.

Doesn't matter where the money comes from, as long as hes filling out the forms to own it.

Pretty sure the company that you are buying it from accepts money orders.

A former police officer got busted when he bought a gun then transferred it to his uncle. The uncle sent him a check for the purchase, which was found through unrelated events.

Well at least in Pa. there is a MASSIVE difference between transfers between parent and child and nephew and uncle. ie parent and child legal, nephew and uncle not legal.
