New resident to Pennsylvania
Hello, my family and I recently moved to Washington County from St. Louis but we are originally from Chicago. I am looking to obtain a conceal carry permit and also to join a local gun range. I mostly shoot handguns (9mm and .45ACP) but I do occasionally shoot 5.56 and 30-06 rifles. Any suggestions on what ranges are good to join. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Re: New resident to Pennsylvania
Your LTCF (our version of a carry permit) you obtain from your county sheriff. Look on their website for info. Some counties in PA issue while you wait, some take from a few days to a few weeks. I'm not sure how Washington county is. Generally, once you have your PA drivers license you go to the sheriff's office (usually in the county courthouse) and apply. It's $20 for a five year license.
I'm not from the area so someone else will have to recommend ranges. The only one I really know anything about is Pitcairn Monroeville Sportsmen's Club (PMSC). There's quite a few members here that shoot there and there are "group shoots there for pafoa every couple months.

Since you are in Washington County, you can get some good info at ACE Sporting Goods, here's their address and phone: 462 Washington Rd, Washington, PA 15301 · (724) 222-5470
Also, on October 8th, at the Washington Co. fairgrounds is the semi-annual Firearm Owners Against Crime gun bash. Lots of guns to be given away plus all the food and drink you could possibly want. FOAC is a great organization that fights (and normally wins) to maintain your PA gun rights. ACE may even still have some of the main prize tickets but you can get in at the door and be eligible of the other raffles and giveaways (and the food).
