Default You don't need to be 21 to oc handguns?

I was visiting friends of mine in East Stroudsburg last night and seen a kid I knew carrying his pistol openly. I remember he just graduated high school recently so I asked his age and he is only 20. I asked him if he ever had an issue open carrying and he said no. He told me he is allowed to have hand guns he just can't purchase them until he turns 21. He walks around Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg with a pistol and said he hasn't had any issues yet. I just thought a person had to be 21 to oc.

He's right (it's 18 for possession), but left out an important part. He can't have a handgun in a car, not even unloaded in the trunk, without going to and from a range or other excepted location.

The real fun for this young man will be when he needs to explain all this to some unknowing police officer.

He graduated last year or the year before I guess. I lived in EBurg in 2014 and he was a senior then.

He's in school to be a cop. I guess he he walks every where. I don't blame him for packing heat in Stroudsburg given all the smut in that area.

I would if he openly carried on a bike if that would be considered "transporting"?

    "conveyance"

This is not my department but the history of this discussion on the forum suggests anything other than your feet is subject to the law.

My understanding on that was that it didn't say car. It said something like 'in or on a conveyance'. Which would mean car, truck , horse, bike, motorcycle, goat, Amish buggy, skateboard..........
