Default Why does Bucks County call the LTCF a Weapons Permit

Why does the Bucks County, PA website call the LTCF a Concealed Weapons Permit? I do not think the Pennsylvania LTCF is really a weapons permit like the Florida Concealed Weapons License which allows person to carry other weapons including lethal weapons concealed. Has there been any movement to make the PA license like Florida?

Because they can't be bothered to use a more accurate term. It's as simple as that.

A PA license to carry firearms, which is also called a "permit" in state law, only relates to carrying firearms. It is not a license to carry knives or other weapons.
I am not a lawyer. Nothing I say or write is legal advice.

Some people elect not to be dictated to when it comes to the semantic options. Like being told to refer to footwear as running shoes when they feel more comfortable with sneakers. Gun control is resented, while speech control is encouraged.

You'll find other sheriffs (and others) calling it things like a "gun permit", "concealed carry permit", etc.

I just think the Deputy or webmaster who created the website isn't as detail oriented as us when it comes to the UFA. I'm assuming the cards still say "Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms" on them? That combined with everyone's good experiences with the Bucks Sheriff's office (at both Doylestown and I believe they have a satellite office) doesn't make me think there's much to be concerned about here.
