    Default Taurus pt111 g2

Having trouble understand the double action aspect of the pt111 g2. So once the gun is in double action there is no way of "decocking"

The double action is only used for second strike capability such as a light primer strike. There is no way of decoking as it is not a standard single/double action gun. So if you racked the slide and put a round in the chamber the gun would be in single action. If there was a light primer strike the slide would not cycle, but you could still pull the trigger again ( which would be in double action mode since the slide did not rack) to try to fire the round. If you would clear the malfunction by manipulating the slide and chambering another round you would be in single action again. Hopefully that makes sense

Somewhat so basically the only way to get out of double action. Is to put a round in the chamber, re-rack the gun, or disassemble and start all over.

Yes and the only way it will ever be in double action is if there is a light primer strike and you pull the trigger again to try to get the round to fire. Double action on this gun is only for second strike capability. It will never be in double action mode otherwise. The best way to look at it is it is a striker fired gun with second strike capability.

Everready nailed it with this statement. It's essentially always a single action trigger EXCEPT in the event of a light-strike, in which case it becomes a heavier double-action pull for the 2nd/3rd/4th, etc strike. The vast majority of local gun shops carry the PT111 G2, you should go check one out in person. At $199, it simply can't be beat for the money. I'm a Sig guy myself, and I was drawn to this pistol because of the good trigger, crazy low price, and the fact that I can slap P226 mags in it. For me, it makes a perfect glovebox gun.

Are P226 mags really just drop in with perfect reliability?

Yes, I haven't experienced any issues with FMJ.
