How to find an Instructor ?
I'm fairly new to shooting. I have a friend who wants to try shooting, but I'm definitely not comfortable instructing anyone else as I feel I still need an instructor.
How do you find an instructor ? I feel like I'm out here on my own floundering and then to have someone say they want me to take them shooting. eeks.
How much do you offer to pay an instructor if they don't tell you how much they'd like ?
Why does it have to be so difficult to find what you need in Warren County. *sigh*

Re: How to find an Instructor ?
I think the NRA courses are a good start because it's an established curriculum and standards and the cost is affordable.
Once you go through that, there are many other options for training beyond that, either going to an established facility somewhere or finding reputable instructors.

Once you get it right. Follow that other rule. Practice, practice, PRACTICE!

News of a Ladies Only class in my area this coming weekend, with NRA certified instructors, just came to my attention today. Definitely gonna have to check it out.
(Tried to post the info here for anyone else who might be interested, but my tablet is being uncooperative......It is at Pine Grove Sportsmans Association, Russell, PA, Saturday, Sept 17th. Noon-3pm)Last edited by EmmaJay; September 11th, 2016 at 01:04 AM.

I do have to say it has a craptastic website that does not show your class on its calendar and can't get a decent google map to work on it's official website name.
Here's a map.

Thanks for trying to find info markshere2.
I'm not surprised about the website. Around here, hardly anyone seems to keep up their websites. It's sad and frustrating.
And google seems to be a bit off alot around here ... I figure I'm just gonna have to leave plenty of time to get there and circle the area a few times.
