Default Live primer stuck in Lee primer arm (small)

I've managed to get a live primer stuck in the primer arm. I'm looking for suggestions on how to safely remove it. My gut instinct is to soak it in oil in hopes of making it inert before attempting to removed it.

    Any other suggestions?

Sounds good to me. Then wear eye and ear protection and go at it with whatever it takes.

It is not a stick of dynamite. The only danger I ever saw was having the cup or anvil hit you in the eye. Other than that, you might get a slight cut.
Can you use tweezers, if not your own fingers?
Oil, used over the course of a year, can kill a primer (found when LEOs were simply squirting WD40 over the cylinder with the round still in the cylinder. No guarantee that it will, but it can. LOTS of folks have tried an overnight soak in oil or WD40 and found they still went bang the next day. The primer compound in most primers is protected from contamination.

I don't know if it was actually made inert, but after a squirt with WD-40, and a wait overnight, I was able to get the primer removed without it detonating.

While I understand the risk is relatively small, I also know that accidents and injuries often occur when least expected, or when the risk is underestimated. I still handled the case carefully, and did not attempt to see if I could cause detonation my whacking the removed primer with a hammer, etc.

Safety glasses and leather gloves if you are worried. I've popped a couple and they are a little louder than those snappers you throw on the ground.
