As for storm, the only time ive ever been on the wrong end of a gun was at a friends place. Vet from active duty.
Just saying, its not an automatic gold star for safe handling, no one is free from fault regardless of their "status"
Needless to say, i dont hang around them anymore. They swept too much and not with a broom...

Remember, ignorance of the law is only an excuse if your a politician.

The problem here is that you are supporting the concept of secret lists compiled by secret people. Star chambers, if you will.

    I'm sorry, you can't buy a gun.

    Why?

    You're on the list.

    Which list?

    Can't tell you.

Why am I on that list?

    Can't tell you.

How do I get off that list?

    Can't tell you.

We are supposed to be a nation of laws, not secret lists. If someone IS a terrorist, take them off the streets.

Share a name with a bad guy and you have to petition beg the government to let you travel. At this point, it isn't inconceivable that our government will require us to apply for permission to leave our towns. Every year, we'll be issued a pass that says how far we can travel and if we stray outside of that border, we'll be punished. Want to go to Disney World? Apply. Too many people going to Florida? No more passes.

The really sad thing is that many people accept the idea of secret lists, they'll murmur sympathetically when you tell them about how you got denied a plane ticket but follow that up with "it's for our safety." Those same people will willingly accept travel passes and unannounced warrantless searches because it will "enhance our safety."
