'The fatal police shooting of a black man in Minnesota who was reported to be legally carrying a gun has had a chilling effect on an unlikely group: gun rights advocates.

I see law enforcement as equivalent to the standing army many Founders warned about.

To an extent, yes. LEOs perform an essential function, but they have taken on too much of a military role.

It is the direct result of people not wanting to (or being allowed to) handle most of their own security concerns. It is catastrophically unwise to purchase your individual security from the government.
