Default Mirror Finish To Matte Stainless Suggestions?

I have a Ruger GP100 that I have polished to a mirror finish over the last year and I don't care for it. It's impossible to keep clean and I haven't been able to take a good photo of the revolver for months! Every mark stands out, needs to be buffed out and repolished. It's awful. So, what are my options are for going back to a matte stainless finish? Sand blasting? Try to sand it?

Research bead blasting and the correct media you will need but it can be done fairly easily.

AND NEVER, EVER, USE STEEL WOOL ON STAINLESS STEEL!

Unless you want the stainless to rust.

I'm going to look at cost of bead blasting equipment and degree of difficulty versus sending the revolver away or paying someone else to do it for me. My wife and I agree that we like this gun way too much to risk ruining it with cheap tools and novice mistakes. If anyone local can do it for us, I will pay generously. Total labor looks to be around $160 to return to ruger. If you've already got the tools and experience, it's an easy $200. Any takers?

The person doing the work should hold an FFL license...you cannot just let anyone do the work for you. Believe me, I have a lot of folks wanting me to refinish their firearms for them. I am not an FFL holder and cannot have someone else's firearms.
