    Question Ammo question

Have a Hornady hollow point cartridge where the bullet is set down into the casing and is significantly shorter than it should be. My inclination is not to fire and chuck it. Right move?

Likely caused because I racked that same round a few times instead if rotating it out. My fault, but I don't want to take any chances with it.

    Thanks in advance.

Do not shoot it. Pull the bullet and save the components.

Mail it with a note to the governor of NJ, with the note stating, "Please make these legal in NJ." That would be a good use for it.

Check NJ ammo laws first. Could be that shipping ammo NJ addresses is a violation of NJ state law.

If you have a kinetic bullet puller you can possibly reset the bullet to the correct length, or just pull the bullet and reseat/recrimp it and shoot it.

I bet you reuse your aluminum foil after covering food with it.

Why would I bother saving the parts of one bullet when I don't reload?

I was more concerned about safety, not resale value.

So what might happen if I were to attempt to shoot it? (I'm not)

Generally the deeper a bullet is set pressure increases. Usually more noticeable in smaller cases than larger ones.
It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.
