An Extremely Dangerous Bill’: This State Could Be First to Put Gun Owners Into Federal Database

HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii could become the first state in the United States to enter gun owners into an FBI database that will automatically notify police if an island resident is arrested anywhere else in the country.

Most people entered in the “Rap Back” database elsewhere in the U.S. are those in “positions of trust,” such as school teachers and bus drivers, said Stephen Fischer of the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services Division. Hawaii could be the first state to add gun owners.

Lived there during the 70's and 80's. Went to the Koko-Crater range. Nobody asked for a permit back then although I remember the RSO carried a fully retired military bearing. At the time, they didn't even have 15 yard ranges (that I was aware of).

Of course, this possible bill, if passed, would make you have to beg for your inalienable constitutional rights.

And if you're willing to let your local Hawaiian government to pass laws such as this, you know the strangle hold on them is that we may diminish your Pearl Harbor and other military base fundings.

What terrorist in his right mind would want to go to Honolulu? From what I've heard, from the airport, the traffic is just awful...

Hawaii shouldn't be a state anyway. We stole it for Dole pineapple, Pearl harbor and the Sugar industry from the legal ruler, Queen Liliʻuokalani, by force of arms. The state government doesn't want guns on the island. I think there is still a significant percentage of the population that believes the annexation was illegal by international laws.

By that line of thinking we stole the whole USA from the king of England or maybe even from the native peoples.

Hawaii is the most anti (legal) gun state in the U.S. Occupied by Asians, owned by Asians. They can keep it.

But they do like money from the mainland, it provides many residents to work their 3 tourist industry jobs. Otherwise, they would not be able to afford to live there without the multiple jobs.

I visited the Waikiki indoor shooting range while in Honolulu. The vast majority of their clientele were Japanese citizens who were attracted by every rental gun in the place.

We stopped at that range too, it seemed like it catered to having your picture taken holding guns. We didn't shoot, they wanted way too much for just a little range time.
