Re: Good Inexpensive Shotgun?
It would help to know what price range do you consider inexpensive? Many on here will drop $500+ without a second thought while others would be looking for something sub $200.

Re: Good Inexpensive Shotgun?
- Remington 870
- Mossberg 500
You're not going to go wrong with either of these. They're the Ford and Chevy pick-up trucks of the gun industry.
- Ithaca 37
Yet another John Browning design that has changed very little from what he designed. Ithaca has changed the design slightly to not allow the gun to slam fire (as the original JMB design allowed). If you can find an older model, GET IT. Mine is from the early 1970s and it doesn't take long to burn through a box of shells. A used one may be slightly more expensive than a used 500 or 870, but is definitely worth a look if you have the few extra $$.
Used is a very viable option. Find a deal on something with beat up furniture and dress it up a piece at a time when funds allow. Scratched or worn finish on the metal - Cerakote! Busted this or that - replacement parts for the 870, 500, and 37 are available online from pretty much everyone.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Others to consider:
- Stevens 320 - Winchester 1300 clone
- Stevens 350 - Ithaca 37 clone
- H&R Pardner pump - Remington 870 clone
I have a feeling that if you brought $300 cash to a gun show you could score any of these. All are well built and go bang.
Again, if you can find a deal on a beater....
Considering that the 3 above are clones, logic would dictate that parts would be interchangeable between the clones and the parent design. I wouldn't bet $$ on that though.
This is PAFOA, I almost forgot:
Get a Glock.
Soap Box - Worn out : Ballot Box - Broken : Jury Box - Pending : Ammunition Box - Unknown

Re: Good Inexpensive Shotgun?
Thanks for the input, and since someone asked, to clarify on my budget. Sub $300 would be best, but if it is in good condition and really worth, then I would consider sub $350-400
