How many holsters did you buy before you found the one??

I just want to know from those of you who are more experienced in carrying, how many holsters did you buy before you found "the one"? While there are plenty of posts here (and elsewhere) about who has the best holsters, I can't make a decision on which one to purchase, mainly because they are not cheap.

My background: I'm a total newbie. I am a middle age (40-something) female. Bought my first pistol recently (a Glock 43). Prior to that, I obtained my LTCF and took a basic pistol training class. I do plan on carrying concealed. For now, I am carrying in my purse. I do know that this is not a preferred method to carry and that the best method is on my person. Which brings me to my quest to find "the one" for me.

I'm will likely carry IWB. I am awaiting delivery of my first purchased holster, a Desantis Soft tuck and a gun belt. I only bought it because it was inexpensive and will allow me to get a feel for IWB carry. If I like IWB carry, I think my next purchase will be either the Crossbreed MiniTuk or an Alien Gear holster.

Back to my original question: how many holsters did you buy before you found the right one?

I had several before I settled on the Don Hume 715M series of IWBs.

Then, since I hate untucked shirts, I started making my own tuckable IWB holsters.

My holster of choice is the Safariland 6378. I open carry though so...
I'm going to get a Crossbreed for IWB or similar. I also have one of the CC t shirts

Mrs.K uses a Flashbang for her M&P Shield 9mm - it just disappears. She has also used a left-handed SofTuck worn Small-of-Back to give a palm-out draw.

The SofTuck will only work if you have a waistband and a top you can lift/pull out of the way. The Flashbang *could* work with a wrap dress depending on how much it wraps.

My IWB options will not work for most females.

Most of us have bags full or drawers full of holsters. Think of them as shoes and purses. What will work for you will depend on your body and your style of dress. Lots of clubs and ranges have ladies nights. That's going to be a wealth of information on what works. The sooner you get that gun on you, the better. Even a fanny pack is better than a purse.

check out a stealthgear in the waistband holster.i got one used and it is the most comfortable in the waistband holster i have now

I spend hundreds of dollars on just about every type of holster there possibly is and thankfully I found the one that fits be best for all type of IWB carry. Whether I am carrying my G43 or a full sized G17 I used a Contact Concealment AP holster.

I just sold one because I hated the way it felt on my hip felt very sloppy to me which proves it's all about body type and personal preference.
