Homebrew Gun Rack
Well, stole this idea from a guy on Gunbroker. Worked out well with my newly redone home office.. like the contemporary look. Cheap to make too!
I rotate my favorite toys through it each week ... keeps me smiling.

Re: Homebrew Gun Rack
Aww geez......... sorry about that! Details would be good eh?
The stuff is called "gridwall" , 14 bucks for a 2 x 4 piece like I have there. The hooks are like, 25 cents. I think that whole setup cost me in the 25 dollar range. I need to add some tubing to the hooks to protect the finish on the guns but it's definitely a solid setup. Mostly used in retail stores for clothing, shelves, etc..
A quick google of gridwall should yield about a billion results Only drawback is shipping so if you're going to order, order it all at once.

That is a nice looking setup you got there.
It looks like a piece of artwork on the wall. I would hang that in my living room.

Re: Homebrew Gun Rack
What a great idea. I've been wanting to build a wall rack for months and have been looking for some good hardwood to build it with. I made a template for a traditional looking 4 gun rack, but even if I find some good wood I know I still wouldn't have time to cut, build and finish it. I'm definitely going with your design instead, not just because of the time and money I'll save, but it looks great too!

Re: Homebrew Gun Rack
I love that AK on top, it just sets the whole scene. After admiring your picture for a while I think I have the walls in my future (dream) saferoom all planned out. 4 floor to ceiling racks. One filled with modern military rifles, another with WWII and earlier rifles, one with modern hunting rifles and shotties, and the last with hand guns. And right in the middle of the room will by my smithing table and reloading set-up.
I have a room in my basement with two walls against the foundation, so all I have to do is secure 2 walls, the ceiling and put on a vault door. It would be a hollywood moment everytime I opened the vault door to walk in and (as I stroke my goatee) think, hmmmmm, what will it be today.
The closet would have a bug out bag, spare keys to the RV, a full ammo can for every gun and just for good measure, duct tape and plastic just in case it's too late and I'd rather sufficate than die of anthrax.

What is the 2nd from the top rifle? I thought it was an AR, but I can't tell for sure.
