Default Which country has the biggest commercial firearms industry?

I don't think there is any other country that matches American commercial firearm industry, in size or quality. What about the rest of the world? Gun control is so on the march around the world that you think nobody makes guns anywhere. For example, I remember France make high quality firearms back in the day. Saint Etienne comes to mind. Not sure where they are now. Belgium is another country. I still have my dad's A-5 with Fabrique Nationale engraved on it. Any newcomers?

Turkey seems to make a crapload of guns lately. Sarsmilaz, Stoeger guns, some Weatherby shotguns are made there too.
I handled one of those all-steel Sar .45s several months ago at my LGS. Seemed like a nice piece.
I'm faster than Doc Holliday (with Novocaine of course)

Right, there are a lot of new players. Many are probably for export only as handgun ownership is unheard of in many of these countries. Actually, Middle East has been known for producing reputable firearms before. Persian and Egyptian Mausers come to mind although both were military rifles.

ATF has been saying we have 8 million ARs since 2000, 4 years before the AWB ended. And they still say it today.

At least they cut their estimate of illegal aliens from 34 million back to 11 million, so I guess it balances out. If you are taking LSD.
