During my combat tours in Nam, Marines had a mantra -- kill the enemy twice. I can attest to that as good advice. I once shot a charging NVA center chest with my M1911. He closed another 20 feet and I then shot him in the head. At that pont he was dead. There is no lethal shot unless the opponent dies.

Otherwise it is just a miss or a wounding shot.

His rifle mag was empty so he dropped it, killed 10 motherfuckers and then loaded and chambered his new rifle mag!
