On Line Virginia CCP Test and Application for out of state residence. Legit??

So this ad shows up on my iPhone to take a short test (easy) and after passing it, I got one question wrong, filling out a form for $79 which is then sent to the VA State Police for a out of state VA concealed carry permit.

I have provide NO, ZERO - personal information as I am questioning the legitmacy of this.

Has anybody else seen this?

I am older and ALWAYS on "scam alert".

It asys that the VA out of state permit will allow for carry in 28 states. My last count is that our PA LTCF is good for 33. I'm not sure, therefore, that I see the point.

I don't know anything about but if "it" came after and you didn't go after "it" most likely a scam.

Most likely they are processing a piece of paper for $$$ that you could do yourself for free. All other costs would be the same as normal, just an additional 79 cost in some third parties pocket.

I looked into the VA non-resident permit when the reciprocity issue first came up. At that time, I found a price of $100 listed as the appropriate fee.

ETA - VSP site still says $100.00

It's not really a scam but it is a worthless thing. You're still going to have to pay Virginia the $100.

It's like the ads for FFL kits. Ohhh.
