Metal detectors installed at Reading's Santander Arena and Performing Arts Center

Went with wife to see Riverdance last nite at the PAC - nice event!

UPDATES and observations:
Three walk-thru metal detectors in operation - old tech with vertical sides light bar to indicate area of detection. Appears detection zone does not go down to boot/shoe level so a well-purposed letter opener will pass! Also wand bars for secondary scan when needed.

Laughable security - made Walmart greeters look like MMA athletes. Patrons told to hold keys, phones, purses above the head and walk thru. So naturally upper body shows red. No search of bags/purses seen in any form - HINT - Ladies(or DEI partner) carry off body in purse and you're GTG!
As often as red zone lit mid body I expect a shoulder holster would work fine also - again no secondary search witnessed.



I did not witness wands used on anyone.

Wife took Granddaughter to that show on Wednesday. She had to check her purse at coat check cuz it was "too big".

Don't know how subjective the criteria is. Guess it depends upon who is on duty at the time.

Went with wife to see Riverdance last nite at the PAC - nice event!

River dance = low chance of fighting and mob violence. Go to a concert rock / metal concert and they check real good. I have even seen jewelry removed.

UPDATE FROM THE ARENA:

Here now for the Tom Segura comedy tour - didn't find it entertaining

Full height metal scanners in place at all entry points followed by wanding at random and on any chirps. Yay....enjoy Reading at night!
