    Default Winchester 1897 need help!

I have a model 1897 solid frame that i purchased a while back (i've owned 4 and currently own 3) i bought it knowing that action release wasnt working properly, when you press the action release button you cant cycle it, but when the hammer is down it will cycle as it should. I took it apart and somone had put the spring thatvis under the slide on the wrong side, i put the spring where it needed to be and it didnt solve anything. Im thinking the problem may be in the action release button itself. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance, i just wanna get the old girl working like she should

Never mind. I decided to tear apart another one of my 97s and im missing the part in the carrier that interfaces with the action release button. So now i have another question. Does anyone know what that part is called? And also have a food source for 1897 parts?

Yep, what they said. I just got parts for a 1887 12 ga from Jack First took less than a week from order to receipt.
