Default Need help with muzzle brake

I have a pinned muzzle brake that needs to be drilled out on my ar15 upper.
If anybody can do it (I tried but my bits dont even scratch the surface) I will gladly pay you for your time.
    Let me know.
    Bogey.

Where are you located? Is it a roll pin?

Upper darby, it looks to be pressed in and ground down.
Its a 14.5" BCM upper. I think they drill through the brake and into the threads and pin it and grind the pin down.

They weld it in. It's ment to be permanent. Buy carbide drill bits.

Is that what that is a weld? Great.
    Thanks for the info.

If I do it myself, do I need to use a small bit first for a pilot hole or can I just start out
with the bit that's as big as the weld?

They weld the pin in and then grind it. Use a small file and make the "pin" flat. Center punch it. Use cutting fluid. Be cautious with the pressure not to bend the drill or snap it. You can drill full size on something that small. It's hard because the weld cooled so fast because it's so small. Like dunking red hot steel in water. Just make sure you are drilling straight and the drill isn't walking off the center.
