I recall a recent ad with just such a picture where they actually say "The picture speaks for itself".

I know they look like they're high mileage but it's really a custom cerekot job.

On a related note, if you put up a roadside sign selling firewood. Put a foucking price not just a phone number. It's like not having a pic on here. If the sign is not on a non standard pile I can assume it's a cord or 1/2 cord.

luckily this isn't restricted just to firearms. classified ads make for an amusing afternoon at work when it's a bit slow.
asking almost new prices for items that are old to a point of being replacement part obsolete.
thinking that because an item is old, it's a collectors item or antique.
take a stroll through craigslist if your ever feeling bored.
i've got an old empty can of rheingold for sale! i found it in the woods but it must be valuable!
my 91/30 has rust spots so now it has a one of a kind patina, it's value has tripled!
