Question Utah License...is it worth it?

Looking through the attorney generals website and PA has a lot of reciprocity with many states. What would be the benefit of getting the Utah CCW? Is it even worth getting since we already have agreements either in Written Reciprocity (18 states), Statutory Reciprocity (9 states), Unilateral Grant (2 states) or Just not required (3 states).

It's worth it for me because I go to Delaware regularly. Guess it depends if you plan on going to any states Pa does not have reciprocity with. If not then no, it's probably not worth it.

I have a AZ CWP, PA LTCF and UT CFP. I believe that gets you about 38 states you can carry. Take a look at handgunlaw.us for good info.

I hope that helps. Maine has a fairly painless process also if you want to get their non-resident permit for $60.

Only worth it if you travel to the states that honor it.

I too got mine to not have to disarm in nearby Delaware. Of the licenses that Delaware accepts Utah was the best value in the long run. Not counting the Utah specific class in order to obtain the license, Utah only costs $49 ($15 for renewal) and has a lot of reciprocating states.

As mentioned though, if it is worth it or not depends on why you want it, for which states are you looking to travel to where PA is not accepted.

Great comments, thanks for the insight guys. Thinking about what you all said, i guess Delaware would be one of the reasons needed, though i travel a lot more to Maryland and wish i could CCW there...but that [insert expletive] place is a WHOLE other topic.

Or if you want to play the "collect them all and win" game.

I did UT to get me Delaware and Ohio (back before we got Ohio on a PA permit).

I may trade it for AZ so I can carry in Vegas.

YES. I can go to Delaware while armed.
