    Default Pistol powder shortage?

I stopped at Cabela's and they didn't have common pistol powders like 2400, Bullseye, or Unique. The guy working in the reloading area said it's been sold out. They may not have had any pistol powder but that's what I normally use. I then went to the LGS and they told me that they haven't had any common pistol powders for a couple months now. I'm not out but is it this way where you shop?

This has been going on for a couple years and I suspect it will get worse due to election coming up and current political climate.

Yeah that's why I bought primers while I was there. As in a couple 1000.

Your local, so try troxels. I've had good luck there. I'm still working on a bunch I stocked up on last year and I haven't been looking lately. If you want to give him a call I believe Grahams in Jersey Shore had 8lb jugs of unique the last time I was in, maybe two weeks ago.

Cabelas I have always thought has a terrible powder selection.

Up in this part of the country, Grice's probably has the best prices and selection when it comes to powder. I haven't been in there since Christmas time but when I was they had huge jugs of every powder imaginable. I only buy in bulk so that's where I go in this region. It's not worth my time or money to buy a 1 pound can here or there from smaller LGS's.

Just for the hell of it I just tuned in Gunbot searching for powders. I sort by brands and view In-stock only!

My search so far finds NO Accurate, No Alliant, Only CFE Pistol and HP-38 in 1 pound cans at Cabela's, Some VV at Butch's (never bought from them) and No Winchester.

Powder Valley (one of my favorite suppliers) website lists BOTH 1 cans and 8 pound kegs of Accurate #5 on their site. I suggest you jump on it!

I had to go back and check the date, I thought I fell into a necro-thread!

I will have to pay attention next time I am in one of the LGS's I go to with powder.

Actually, Troxel is where I was at earlier today. Normally Dave always has what I want in stock except a few years back of course. My dad may make a run to Grice's within a week though. He often goes to National in Jersey Shore, I can have him check into Grahams also. I've grew up near JS, but never been to Grahams.

Today Bass Pro in Harrisburg had Unique, Bullseye, and several other common powders.
