Address Change on LTCF...?
I'm going to be moving soon and was wondering what all needs to be done.
Or if it is as easy as I think it is..
Do I just go into the courthouse and ask the Sheriff to change it? Or is there any forms that I will need other than an ID?I need a better signature than this...

Re: Address Change on LTCF...?
Your LTCF is good until it expires.
There are no forms, provisions or procedures in existence to facilitate a change of address for your LTCF (but there is for your DL).
There is no requirement to notify anyone that your address has changed (but there is for your DL).
You may, at your discretion, notify the issuing authority of your new address.
Again, even if you want to, you can't.
Of course, if your relocation puts you in a new county, you'll have to go to that new county's Sheriff to get your LTCF renewed when the old one expires.Last edited by Statkowski; February 6th, 2016 at 11:28 PM.

Re: Address Change on LTCF...?
When I moved I went to Northampton County sheriff's office to change my address, I think I paid $10.00 they ran another check on me and gave me the new one on the spot. I didn't need to do it I just wanted my address to match my new license. You have to change your license address first. About 2 1/2 yrs later I bought a house and moved again this time I just sent the sheriff a short letter about change of address. I did the same thing with Harrisburg for my Act 235 sent them a change of address letter for my file. It is probably not necessary but the way I looked at it, if I ever got pulled over I wanted everything in order.

Re: Address Change on LTCF...?
At a minimum, send the sheriff a certified letter notifying him of your new address. Keep the receipt. If your LTCF is ever revoked, they will send notice to the address they have on file, and if you don't get it, it's still revoked, and it's now a felony for you to carry a firearm concealed or in a vehicle.

Re: Address Change on LTCF...?
When I moved , within Montgomery County , I notified the Sheriffs Dept firearms unit in person. They changed my address on their computer and it was good enough till renewal.
