Very unexpected and nice from someone who campaigned as a Democrat.
I wonder how he will be with NFA items? I know the rules are changing but there will be people who will want to buy their stuff before then...

Thank you Sheriff Kilkenny. The move does not affect me but it's good to know when someone in power does something in favor of the law abiding.

Good move on the sheriff ! but that pic was a poor choice. - small of back, doesn't looks like there is a holster and his finger looks like it's in a bad place.

Somebody forgot their safety training. Mexican carry, drawing with a finger on the trigger.

Re: Montgomery County Sheriff Rescinds Local Police Check Card Requirement
I decided to email the Sheriff and thank him and encourage him to remove the references requirement too. I emailed him via the Sheriff's office website contact link.
I kept it simple: This is what I wrote:
"Thank you Sheriff Kilenny for removing the requirement for a local police check to obtain a LTCF. I hope you will remove the required references too. While neither was burdensome when I got my LTCF they not State requirements and consequently should not be on the application. We need one standard in PA, and you are moving to get MONTCO as part of achieving that goal. It is nice to have a sheriff who wants to comply with the State’s requirements.

Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.
