Default Anyone reloading .30 Carbine for a handgun? (Ruger Blackhawk)?

What are you using? I've been searching and handgun load info is tough to find. It's a bit of an oddball caliber in a handgun. The Ruger is meant for and will handle factory rifle loads but the blast and fireball makes it unwanted on the firing line. Here's what I've been shooting in it:

Frontier brand (S. Africa) plated round nose 110 grain bullet, CCI 400 primer, 4.5 gr Unique, coal 1.675".

Recoil is mild, accuracy is decent (still not used to the recently-acquired gun). I picked up on the 4.5gr Unique load somewhere but don't recall where and haven't been able to re-find it. I recall it producing 1050 fps from the Ruger 7-1/2 barrel. I'd like to verify that.

I like the load. Looking for info on what fps and ME it produces. Another reason to buy that chrony I've been wanting to justify.

    Thanks :-)

Thanks^^ I had looked there. Now I have registered. Surprisingly little info there for .30 Carbine handgun loads, but one post had a link to the Smith&Wesson forum and I re-found the Unique load info and several others. Now I know the load was from Speer Manual #14 and is a legitimate combo. It is similar to a .38 Spec wadcutter load in speed....779 FPS...which at 110 gr is about 148 muzzle energy. A full grain more is 945/218.

H-110 is the powder developed specifically for the M1 , 110 being the bullet weight. 2400 is another good powder. I use the Speer 110gr JHP for my Blackhawk. Mostly I shoot USGI surplus. Stocked up when the CMP was selling it for $5/box. Since the M1 carbine round is technically a rifle round , you'll find data in the rifle section. And since the Ruger Blackhawk is the most common handgun , and is probably stronger than the carbines action , it's eat those loads with no danger.

14gr start ~ 15gr max with a 110gr jacketed bullet will get about 2100fps in the 18in barrel of the carbine. Deduct approx. 25fps per inch of barrel.
