Anybody else reloading this weekend?
We figure that since there's supposed to be snow everywhere and "IN SIZE", we're gonna make the best of it sheltering in place and spending cozy family time reloading.
When we need a break, we'll mozy into the other reloading room and start on the Dillon:
Our goal is to have some fun and plan for more amenable range conditions by reloading the following over the next five days:
1,000 9-147 LRNFP's (3.1 W231)
2,000 45 200 gr LSWC's (4.0 N310)
2,000 45-70's w/ 300 gr LRNFP (11.7 Unique)
Among other things we'll contemplate are some of Drudge Report's more informative headlines:
Snow levels absolutely staggering
Full Moon Could Make More Destructive
Anxious Shoppers Ransack Grocery store
Stop killer robots before it is too late scientists tell Davos forum
Scientists attempt to find 'normal" penis size
Kerry Says Don't Believe Hype: World Changing for Better
Man barred from having sex unless gives police 24 hours notice
Venezuela Inflation to Surpass 700%
Ho hummm. When is there gonna be something really interesting in the news?- bamboomaster

Re: Anybody else reloading this weekend?
We aren't getting any snow here in Wayne county, but I'll be reloading anyway.
On tap is more plinking rounds
55gr Hornaday FMJBT over 23.5gr TAC and winchester smp
I'm also beginning load development with 77SMK starting with 21.6 TAC for my SPR.

Re: Anybody else reloading this weekend?
Great that everyone is holding themselves accountable!
Haven't loaded for 300 BLK, but we use 23.0 TAC with the Sierra 55's for general plinking rounds (out to 300 yds).
The more serious load for a 16" LMT is
SMK 77 gr
Rem 7.5 primers
23.6 Tac
OAL 2.245
Crimp .247
We have loaded thousands in the past with this recipe for this 1x7 twist carbine and they're good to go all the way to 600 yds with a 4x ACOG. Using them out to 740 yds is a bit of a reach with the ACOG unless you hold a bit lower than the 600 stadia line - and have a superb spotter!- bamboomaster

Re: Anybody else reloading this weekend?
Since I spent the last two mornings testing some new .308 loads, I have some leisurely brass cleaning and reloading to look forward to.
Maybe a couple hundred rounds, not thousands.
Also, the mailman just brought me 1,000 9mm cases on the cheap, so I'm sorting those by headstamp before dinner.

Re: Anybody else reloading this weekend?
I probably should be doing some loading as I have a huge backlog on the bench. About 8-10000 cases are in various stages of production.

If this storm hits as hard as promised I'll probably be off this week. If so I'll probably hammer out some 9mm.

Re: Anybody else reloading this weekend?
You're gonna be busy. If you need any "favorite" 7.62x51 load, just let me know. We've got that dialed in for our AIAW...
Sounds like everybody is going to be safe this weekend. The really good news is that I haven't heard of anyone having a heart attack from reloading.
The bad news is that for some of us, that snow is still coming. Not to worry, I've sprayed WD-40 on all our snow shovels - it's a secret trick for keeping the snow from sticking to the shovel. But I guess any spray oil will work - the cooking spray PAM comes to mind. I'd just hate to be using any of those little bottles of gun oil since they cost so dang much.
Wanneroo, I don't know how you keep your brass organized/segregated, but I use those 4-5 gallon white pickle buckets - depending on where you can find them, they cost about $1-2. Depending on the brass, each stores anywhere from 3,500 - 7,000. I put a piece of green painter's tape on the front of the bucket and also the lid - then write the caliber and anything else I did on the tape. These buckets are a solution to shelves that start bending because you can stack them high and deep on a concrete floor....
Just a warning, the pickle "smell" comes with the bucket, and if you don't thoroughly clean them with soapy water and let them dry in the summer heat, your gonna get hungry for a ham sandwich every time you open them to retrieve your next batch of pickle-scented brass!- bamboomaster
