Default Firearm safe movers , two ton safe

Hey guys, I am going to potentially be getting a fairly heavy safe. Around the 4300 pound range , and can't find anyone who is either capable or willing to take my money to move it.

Obviously at that weight , a DIY move w friends is in no way an option.

Here is the rub. Ideally I would like it moved into a basement. Concrete steps down to the basement. Seven of them. And not at an angle that allows a truck winch to be utilized.

So does anyone have any leads or suggestions for a safe move from central jersey to northeast Philadelphia?

    Thanks in advance!
    Dave

You could try calling a rigger.

How would a rigger get it into a basement though?

Maybe try with a manufacturer or supplier of safes that size?

Other than that, I got nothing. That's a monster job.

The basement is likely below grade...but is there any way any windows could be removed and have it dropped in through one? That would be best case.

Worst case, this job might require some digging, a hole cut in the foundation wall and rebuild/refill. What's the dimensions of the safe?

Here's a thread on a 5,000 pound safe move that might give you ideas, but not into a basement.

IMO if you are purchasing a safe that large you should purchase it from a dealer. I would imagine they can handle it.

I would also consider calling a rigger if it's used or whatever, but it won't be cheap.

Although, they tried to overprice my last safe install IMO. But might as well be one of your minimum of three quotes. Lots of guys here have used them.

The kid wanted to get a giraffe but it was too big so we got a lab puppy instead.

Riggers rigg things. Of course they tend to do it on a bigger scale.

I used a rigging company when I relocated the shop to Pa.
It was expensive and they don't do stairs-

Frick was going to do my stairs. They were going to temporarilly reinforce them. Many people here have had that company put safes in the basement.

Or, perhaps you were just talking about the company you used.
