Probably not, but it probably IS a requirement of their insurance carrier, just like the "no loaded firearms" bullshit.

Anyone hired would have to be Act 235 qualified, or exempt (as cops are).

Police not getting their overtime pay? Bad for the Mayor.

It is unfortunate that some Harrisburg PD won't be able to pick up a little extra money for a gig that is probably one that is less difficult to service than other assignments (controlling traffic, letting a whole host of law-abiding citizens go about their business and enjoy themselves).

Why does the Harrisburg Mayor hate a Civil War museum? That just sounds weird. Is there a Confederate emblem in it or something like that?

Building owned by city. Former Mayor Reed set it up and gave the museum a $1 a year lease. Current mayor hates most things Reed and also sees a potential to extract more cash and is prohibited from doing so.

And so goes worldly politics. It's a downright shame America fell into it.

After all of this, I will have to visit the museum. Maybe after attending the next gun rights rally or the Outdoor Show.

Can one or all of the other PDs around Harrisburg supply security with their off duty personnel?

Just clicked on the link and answered my own question, screw Platapussy.
