This is a squeeze play. Prosecution of non-licensed dealers will rise. They'll make sure they get some people that sold 4 or 5 guns in a year to get everyone paranoid about FTF transactions.

On the back side, Hillary has said she wants to crack down on dealers. Remember her hubby put most "kitchen table" dealers out of business.

So, force everyone by threat of prosecution to go through an FFL and reduce the number of FFLs through heavy handed ATF enforcement. They are determined to win this war regardless of the will of the people or their ability to accomplish it through traditional legislative means.

This is what will happen, IMO. They will make an example out of a couple of poor dumb schlubs who will take a plea deal out of the inability to pay for a defense and crapping their pants in fear.

I was listening to Judge Napolitano in the link below and he is reading it as a path to prosecute even private sellers "hidden in the text kind of stuff". And i fully trust his opinion he is one of the BEST VOICES of constitutional law.

He may be one of the best voices on the Constitution, but he was recently dead wrong with his opinion on Section 1 of the 14th Amendment.

But back to the subject. Yes, as others have said in this is largely a restating of existing law, this highly touted, and highly covered EO was designed with total intimidation in mind with of course the help of the usual useful idiots. It is designed to throw ice water nationwide on private transfers and sales without a background check, and to force a long term change in behavior and attitudes among the citizenry regarding the perceived scope of our gun rights.

I think without a doubt that many innocent people who have not violated any laws and who are not a danger to themselves or anyone else are going to be prosecuted and/or punished over the next 18-24 months due to this EO.

All the while, convicted gun and drug felons and illegal aliens will continue to be released early from prison.

One thing I've noticed is that much of the media, even Fox and some conservative radio hosts, are all incorrectly framing this as an expansion of necessary background check provisions in the law, and a closing of the gun show loophole.

While I think this is giving Obama way too much credit for something he hasn't really done and that hasn't really happened. It also serves his purpose and his agenda to make people think that is exactly what just happened.

Meanwhile, I just became a first time member of GOA. God bless them and the NRA in this fight. May God also help the GOP leadership in Congress to finally find their missing spines

Do WHAT? They don't have the votes to overturn a veto. Other than convincing the military to take over the White House there is nothing to be done without the votes.
