Default Bass pro-Shop restrictions on ammo to Philly?

Ammunition is restricted from sale to CT, DC, IL, MA, NJ, NY, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Oakland, Carson, Santa Ana, Sunnyvale, Marin County, Contra Costa County, San Francisco, CA, New Orleans, LA, St. Paul City, MN, and Philadelphia, PA. You must be 18 or older to purchase ammunition, and 21 or older to purchase handgun ammunition. For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on ammunition.
All ammunition is considered hazardous and will be shipped ground, contiguous 48 states only. A street address is required for delivery.
Cannot ship via ship-to-store to Anchorage, AK store. --- Even though you are able to checkout with this item, it will be removed from your order if shipping to a restricted location. If you choose expedited shipping, then this item will still ship ground.

Is this new? Is this a Philly law, Bass pro practice?

There are countless venders who mistakenly believe Philly has a different set of standards from the rest of PA.

I thought they did. I know they are not enforceable, but still.

I read another article on the internet which says that they do not ship to Pittsburgh either. That was back in January 2015. This must not be new. I seldom shop at Bass Pro Shop and now will not shop there at all, in person or on the internet. It's not like they are the only retailer of sporting goods out there. If they are going to support the illegal practice of allowing cities to pre-empt Pennsylvania State law, I will spend my money elsewhere.

I don't blame them. It's not their job to figure out if laws are valid or not. There is always peril.

I few years ago everybody thought municipalities couldn't ban firearm possession in parks. How did that work out? Bass Pro could easily loose a civil action whether the law is valid or not. It's certainly not their job to get into endless legal battles with a government funded entity.

    1. No, it's no new.
    2. Fuck Bass Pro Shops.

This year when my postcard for $10 OFF any purchase of $10 or more arrived, I tore it in half and threw it away.
I no longer give them any of my money.

EDIT TO ADD: LINK to thread I started last year on this topic when my order was cancelled.

Sucks but I don't blame them either given the circumstances.

I can't blame them either, but I can choose to spend my money elsewhere.

Anyone not directly affected isn't really going to give a crap though.

You all might be more pissed off if they refused to sell something to YOU if you too did NOT live where they won't ship to.
Refusing me my order because they don't ship to California makes as much sense as them refusing to ship to me because I live in Pittsburgh - because I don't live in either of those places.
